The Video Electronics Standards Association sets the standard to which nearly all flat panel monitors comply. VESA compliance allows you to mount a monitor on an arm, a wall mount, or a pole mount. The VESA Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface Standard defines a distance of either 75mm or 100mm between mounting screw holes.

How do you know if your monitor is VESA compliant?

Remove the stand on the back of your monitor see if there is a figure as displayed below.

Dell, BenQ, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, IBM, InFocus, LG Electronics, Mitsubishi,
NEC LCD Technologies, Samsung, Sony, Sanyo, and Viewsonic.
